“Sonmaz Mashal” Cultural Relations Public Union has had a presentation of the cultural project under the title of “One Thousand and One Colours of the Land of Fire” realized in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belgium and Luxembourg and the Cultural Association of Azerbaijan in Luxembourg “Karabagh” on June15-19, 2015.
The project is sponsored by The Support Council to Non-Government Organizations under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan Republic.
Shahla Naghiyeva Professor of the Department of Literature of Foreign Countries, Chairwoman of “Sonmaz Mashal” Cultural Relations Public Union gave a detailed speech about the aims of the project and expressed her deepest gratitude to The Support Council to Non-Government Organizations under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan Republic for financial support in the presentation ceremony organized in the Information Resource Complex of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
Within the framework of the project an art exhibition organized in the Cultural Association of Azerbaijan in Luxembourg “Karabagh” the paintings by the three Azerbaijani young woman artists- Narmina Valiyeva, Shahla Gahramanli and Gunay Hasanova on nature, culture and historical monuments of Azerbaijan were displayed on June15-19, 2015.
Shahla Naghiyeva mentioned that the aim of the project is to present the Europeans speedy economic development going on in our country, provide them with broad information about the First European Games held in Baku simultaneously with the exhibition days and let them know the truth about our painful problem -Karabakh conflict and have clear view on the Azerbaijani art and culture on the whole.
The materials on the above-mentioned topics reflected in the books, brochures, albums prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation were widely used to achieve the goal of the project. The film entitled “One Thousand and One Colours of the Land of Fire in Luxembourg” about Azerbaijan displayed in the opening ceremony helped the audience to know the Land of Fire better. The ceremony participants were presented the maps reflecting the occupation of the Azerbaijan territory by the Armenian aggressors.
The aim was to present Azerbaijan as a country of sport as well.
Shahla Gahramanli- a young artist took the floor on behalf of the three young artists the works of whom had been displayed in the exhibition to present her impressions and thank the Azerbaijan Government for financial support in the presentation ceremony.
It should be noted that project team of “Sonmaz Mashal” Cultural Relations Public Union realized the similar cultural projects in USA, Italy, Germany, and Australia under the financial support of The Support Council to Non-Government Organizations under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan Republic aimed at presenting Azerbaijan to the world countries.
